High-Resolution Documentation

61-megapixel macro photography of front, back, and all four edges under calibrated daylight-balanced lighting. Every image is hashed and written to the blockchain — the file cannot be swapped after grading.

Step 02

UV + Infrared Multispectral Imaging

Full-spectrum converted camera shoots the card under 365nm UV and 720nm infrared light. Restorations, alterations, ink differences and print anomalies completely invisible to the naked eye become immediately apparent.

Photometric Stereo Surface Analysis

Multiple light sources illuminate the card from different angles simultaneously, creating a surface normal map that reveals micro-scratches, handling marks, and texture variations invisible in standard flat photography.

Step 04

800x Digital Microscopy

All four corners and all four edges are captured at up to 800x magnification, showing individual card fibres and microscopic wear patterns. These images appear annotated on your certificate, showing exactly what affected your grade.

Step 05

AI Defect Mapping + Grading

Computer vision analyses centering to sub-millimetre precision and produces a colour-coded defect heat map — red for significant flaws, amber for minor, green for clean. Your final grade is supported by objective data, not solely subjective opinion.

Step 06

360° Turntable Capture + Blockchain Write

The sealed slab is captured on a motorised turntable — 72 frames, published as an interactive spin. Simultaneously, all grade data, image hashes, and video hashes are written permanently to the Polygon blockchain. Immutable from this moment forward.
